Icebreaker
(Victor Suvorov)

Publicidade
Icebreaker, by Victor Suvorov ( born Vladimir Rezun ), 1947.
1990, Hamish-Hamilton, ISBN 0241126223
Icebreaker - who started World War II ?- is first in a five book series on historic events leading up to the
Second World War (WW II ) and Germany - USSR relations / warfare at that time.
Mr. Suvorov was Soviet military intelligence officer, defected to Great Britain in 1978 and have written
several controvercial history research books since.
Icebreaker`s main proposition is that WW II was induced by Stalin led USSR to further communist expansion to Europe and next the World.
Cast in the role of icebreaker - or roadpaver, was Adolf Hitler - nazi Germany leader at that period. Soviet Union
secretly trained german army personnel, supplied it with arms - all aganst existing treaties.
Stalin then nudged HItler to attack Poland and entangle Germany in a war against Britain and France- by signing
non-agression pact with him.
Author explains why world communist expansion needs icebreaker and how Germany and A.Hitler were picked and prepared. The full Soviet plan called of course for lightning stab in the back of german army, liberating western europe
and putting all of it under Soviet domination.
It may be a history book but it`s never boring. Author`s razor sharp tongue, brilliant analysis of statistics and events, compelling logic, use of open sources - all contribute to a fascinating reading. And, at least in my case, bring the
reader to agree with mr. V.Suvorov completely.
Highly recommended !
