Mr Lockwood, on retiring to the guest room for the evening, is awakened by a supernatural presence and on inspecting further, he sees a ghost-like presence hovering outside of his window. Naturally, he is terrified and spends the rest of his evening down by the rather large and gothic fireplace completely terrified to move around his neighbours house. The story continues and unfolds into one of the greatest books written of love and complete revenge.
