Fasting as a mean of promoting better health. This is Bragg's message along with pratical advice. I read the book about ten years ago. Twice a year, before embarking on a new 7 day fast I read it again.
To me, it's an effevtive and safe method of detoxifying my body. It gives the organs a well deserved rest, an occasion to heal and rebuild its immune system.
Our world is poisoned and so are we.
What I like best in Paul's Bragg book is the step by step approach. From a 3 day fast to a week... Chapter 11 is most mportant because it explains "how to break the fast". Fasting is easy and not dangerous. breaking the fast may be harmful.
Then he goes from fasting to the science of eating.with sample menus and recipes.
By the way fasting helps breaking the tobacco, alcohol, tea and coffee habit...So if you wish to release yourself from the bondage of stimulants which finally depress the central nervous system, follow Dr Bragg's advice and give it a try.
