Merchant Of Venice
The first time I read The Merchant of Venice, which was in class four, I went absolutely mad for it! I was frantic to get my hands on the original, preferably the Oxford Edition, where you get the poetic part, the summary, as well as the explanation to some "Shakepearean" words. It was a very small passage that had me going, too! The part where Shylock the villain was getting the knife ready to cut a "pound of flesh" from the chest of our dear chaste hero, Antonio. Oh, how I wanted to know immediately what will happen to him! Being a quick reader, I very nearly narrated the whole story to our teacher, and asked her the ending! Our teacher was very strict, though, and I was a meekling, so I stuck to finding the book. And I was rewarded when I found it! Antonio was... go and read it out! The Merchant of Venice, by William Shakespeare. According to me, his best story. Full of fun, love, and friendship. And moralled (is that the word?) too.
