Dog Like Us
(Manuel Alegre)

Publicidade
its one hundred and some pages that show us, in their own way, how a man can miss his dog. to him, one epagneul-breton was given the name Kurika (a lion name), was not a dog as the others( was different) but one like us.he was also a member of the family, perhaps to the narrator's children a brother , he was the only one that saw it like a dog not one of them. he knew that he was special but always tried to show that it was nothing more than a dog that belonged to him. Page yes, page no, we have the alternating tales of a dog's owner after the dog´s death that he continues to feel as if it was invisible but he continued to exist. he hears it, he feels it, and almost sees it. perhaps only he imagined, but however it may be, what mathers is that imagined or not, Kurika was, and would make whatever he had done and what always he made. page yes, Kurika wants to take a walk in the Garden( but an invisible dog does not walk itself).Page not the narrator and the children watch Kurika, as they went to the beach they ask themselves about the dog´s spirit.they are one hundred and some pages with a simple narrative, almost poetical( or not almost poetical, exactly poetical) alive language, and a sense of reality, not owrs in fact, but the reality of the memory of this dog, that was not like the others but certainly like us.
