Counted stars and felt so small,

The moon shone through these
Autumn leaves,
Tasting Honey Suckle breezes,
Waiting for morning again.
Yes, and oh, don't you see the sun
Coming up on everyone
And don't you hear it calling your name?
Dance around the maypole stream
Stepping in and out of dreaming
This dawn won't ever be the same.
We knew when the time had come,
Packed memories ... blessed each one
And headed for the freeway like a stranger.
Through desert heat and winter rain,
Waiting to find a home again ...
Just some babe, a-looking for a manger.
