It’s not what it seems at first glance
marble fountain, iron gate, and a house full of plants
But the days go on
And weeds begin to grow
Might think it was a nice place, if you really didn’t know
Every morning he walks out his front door
Perfect wife, two kids, a swing on the porch
Chalk drawings on the sidewalk
games of tic tac toe
Might think it was a nice place, if you really didn’t know
Sleepless nights and hollow eyes
No place left to go
Shifting lies and late night cries
Demons lying law
Neighbors might be strangers / ooo
Demons might be ghosts/ ooo
Secrets might be sirens/ ooo
Angels might lose hope
screams in the night so I look out the door
then the lights go out on the second floor
a shot rings out
and then I hear one more
Now it’s just a house of ghosts
door’s open wide, the night wind blows
kids crying in the back seat
wonder where they’ll go
