In the light of the night when the city dies
And the urban core begins its meltdown
People in the streets, the lovers and machines
Each one squeaky clean start heading downtown
But I'm waiting here alone, looking out the window
Watching on the phone, waiting for a signal

This city's got me down, the heat is all around
