Lewis Carroll In Wonderland
(Stephanie Lovett Stoffel)
Charles Lutwidge Dodgson. This is the real name of Lewis Carrol, author of the world's most known Alice, and her adventures in wonderland.Carroll had an happy childhood (unlike other great writters) and that is reflected in his life and work. Among with 11 brothers, he had an happy life e full of freedom in the countryside.Carroll was in love with photography and children. He had such a wild imagination, that he even couldmake the world's dryest desert become fertile, in a matter of seconds!Lewis Carroll had a fascination: taking picturesof nakedchildren, but in inocent poses. He is not supposed to be a pedophile, because the children never accused him of nothing. On the contrary. Meanwhile, this story-teller saw in children, the inocense of humans. Something that the adults have already lost. Besides the talent for fantasy, Carroll was a Math genius. He wrote several articles and treaties about this discipline and he also was a professor assistant for some years. He was always telling stories, charades and riddles, while with children. He used to take walks in the countryside, organize picnics, mostly with the sons of the Director of the school he studied - Christ Church. Small Alice, the Director's smallest daughter, was his inspiration for his odd and magical work. It was by desire of the children he used to have walks, that the idea of writing a children's book with the stories of Alice, appeared. The adventures of that girl are organized in chapters that correspond to small stories. These stories were created in each walk that Carroll gave with the children, to distract them and amuse them. The author was born in January 27 of 1832 and died in January 14 of 1898.The book, in pocket edition, is quite well organized. Since the childhood untill the author's adult life, it speaks about interesting aspects and curious facts of this XIX century writter. With quite some images, copies of original pictures and his own documents, the biography becomes colourfull, either in a visual and in a contests level.
