My Experiments In Education
(Bharat Karmarkar)

The book mentioned is yet in the process of formation. I am writing it. At the age of 13, when I was learning in std. IX, I decided to become a teacher and go in rural India. I started teaching when I was 15. Now I am 43. I have very rich experiences about student's motivation and their achievements. I become very sad when I see that most of the teachers have become only 'professionals' and there is hardly any sense of individual attachment and dedication. So, I am writing this book to share my joy which has come to me only because of my dedication.
The entire book will have 20 stories of different students. Each story will represent a different character. Some students are born in very rich families, some in very poor ones. Some are highly intelligent while some are below average. Some are from educated families, while parents of some students are illiterate.
Such students are found all over the world. So I expect this book to reveal universal truths about learning process. I am sure this will be a good starter for those who have just entered into this noble profession. I want to avocate the philosophy 'live for working; don't work to earn living!'.
After completion of this book, though not readers, I will certainly at benefit. I will enjoy all those golden moments of my life once again. I will look at these moments with some increased maturity, which will make me wiser. If readers have to get real benefits of reading this book, they will have to live like me - a life of a dedicated teacher!
